Freshman finished fourth in javelin at George Davis Invitational

RINDGE, N.H. (April 8, 2013) – Freshman Micaila Olson (Upton, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Track Rookie of the Week for the week ending on April 7, as announced Monday by the Conference office.

Olson earned the honor after a fourth-place finish in the javelin at Saturday's UMass Lowell George Davis Invitational. She posted a mark of 37.97 meters, which was her best throw of the season and keeps her ranked third in the Northeast-10 in the event.

For Olson, it is the first career weekly honor from the Northeast-10. It is the second Rookie of the Week selection for the Ravens during the outdoor season and the fourth of the year overall.

The Ravens are back on the track on Saturday, April 13, at the Springtime Classic, hosted by Brown University at Brown Stadium in Providence, R.I.
