Women's Tennis Halted Versus Quinnipiac 5-2

Manchester, N.H (3/16/21) – The Franklin Pierce women's tennis program traveled to Manchester, New Hampshire and the Magic Lincer Tennis Club for a mid-week, non-conference matchup with Quinnipiac University. However, it was not the result they wanted, as the Ravens fell to the Bobcats by a final of 5-2.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce moves to 11-4 this season, whereas the Bobcats improve to 3-7.

All in all, it was a strong showing for the women's tennis team, with one of the two points coming from two victories in doubles. The Ravens claimed 1st doubles with the duo of junior Liria Loria (La Paz, Bolivia) and graduate student Himani Mor (Sonipat, India), winning by a 6-2 score. Hopping over to 3rd doubles, it was the same outcome with different players involved, as sophomores Maria Penalver Aguilo (Palmas, Spain) and Zoe Asterio Correa (Toronto, Canada) secured the 6-2 victory, claim two out of three for the point.

The second strike for Franklin Pierce came from the 4th singles, where Anais Geslin (Livry-Gargin, France) battling through and winning two sets; The first by a score of 6-3, and the second set win resulting from a close tiebreaker, 7-6. The Bobcats, however, claimed the victory in all remaining singles matchups.

Women's Tennis will be back in action at the turn of the month, with their next matchup scheduled for April, 2nd against Holy Cross. The match will begin at Noon, E.T.
