Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Weekly Report

EASTON, Mass. (April 27, 2021) -- Freshman Maria Penalver Aguilo (Las Palmas, Spain) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on April 25, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.

Penalver Aguilo was perfect on the week, as she went 4-0, including 2-0 at first singles and 1-0 at both first and second doubles. In singles play, she posted a 6-3, 6-2 win against Assumption on Monday and a 6-3, 6-3 win at Bentley on Wednesday. In doubles play, she paired with Laura Alvarez Tello to notch a 6-4 win at second doubles against Assumption and a 6-2 win at first doubles at Bentley.

On the season, Penalver Aguilo is 6-1 at first singles and boasts a 9-0 record in doubles play.

The Ravens are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 28, when they host Bentley in the quarterfinal round of the NE10 Championship at 2:30 p.m.
