RINDGE, N.H. (April 9, 2009) –
The Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team was
defeated, 8-1, in Northeast-10 Conference play at home against
Southern New Hampshire on Thursday afternoon.
Freshman Drew Alexander (Long
Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) collected the lone point of the day
for the Ravens. She defeated Southern New Hampshire sophomore
Courteney Blais (Paxton, Mass./Worcester Academy), 8-4 in the No. 5
singles match.
Five Southern New Hampshire players posted wins in both singles and
doubles, led by sophomores Amber Chandronnait (Bow, N.H./Univ. of
Nebraska) and Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia), as neither lost
a game on the afternoon.
The Ravens (2-8, 2-7 Northeast-10) return to the court on Saturday,
April 11, when they travel to Saint Rose for a Northeast-10
Conference match at noon in Albany, N.Y. Southern New Hampshire
(9-2, 9-2 Northeast-10) returns to action on April 14 at home
against Queens.
