SPARKS, Md. (May 22, 2021) -- Following a 57-point junior campaign, Savannah Ernst (American Fork, Utah) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team has been selected to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Third Team, as announced earlier this week.

It is the first career All-America accolade for Ernst, who picked up All-East Region First Team honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association earlier this week. It is the first All-America selection for the Ravens since current head coach Caitlin Sweeney ’18 landed on the IWLCA All-America Third Team as a junior in 2017.

Ernst collected Northeast Division Attacker of the Year and All-Conference First Team plaudits from the Northeast-10 Conference earlier this spring. She started in all 10 games the Ravens played this spring and finished second in the NE10 in goals (49) and third in points (57), to go with eight assists. Ernst’s 91 shot attempts also ranked second in the Conference, as did her 70 shots on goal. She went 13-for-23 on free-position shots and added 13 ground balls, 30 draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers along the way. The 30 draw controls put her in the top 20 in the NE10.

At the national level, Ernst leads the country in shot attempts per game (9.10). She also ranks fourth in Division II in goals per game (4.90) and ninth in points per game (5.70).

The Ravens finished their season at 7-3, and picked up the first postseason win in program history last, when they defeated Saint Michael’s in the first round of the NE10 Championship.
