RINDGE, N.H. (March 21, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team will host its annual Lax-4-Life event in conjunction with its game against Bentley on Wednesday, March 27. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Sodexo Field.

Per Lax-4-Life’s own description of its mission: “Lax-4-Life is a national lacrosse campaign which provides support to programs geared toward adolescent and young adult suicide prevention awareness. Lax-4-Live began with the women’s lacrosse coaches in the [fellow Division II conference] Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 2009. The initiative was created to tackle an issue college coaches, teams and communities deal with every day: adolescent suicide. After seeing the response from campuses and other communities, Lax-4-Life grew into what it is today with the involvement and support from men’s and women’s Division I, II, III and NAIA lacrosse programs, as well as high school programs.”

The program was initially started by West Chester head coach Ginny Martino. Franklin Pierce will join more than 50 NCAA teams across all three divisions which will participate in the program in 2019. Both the Ravens and Bentley will warm up in blue Lax-4-Life t-shirts, and there will be a brief pregame ceremony to recognize the program. The Ravens will be collecting donations at the game as well, to contribute to the initiative.
