RINDGE, N.H. (April 11, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse senior midfielder Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) netted her 200th career point, while fellow senior Anna Wilbert (Bohemia, N.Y.) notched her 100th career goal, in a 15-12 victory against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael's College Wednesday afternoon on Sodexo Field. With the victory, the Ravens improve to 5-6, 3-6 NE10 while the Purple Knights remain winless overall and in league play.

Briana Sweeney became only the fourth member of the program's 200th point club joining Lauren Stille (262, 2008-11), her sister Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) (228 points), and Jordan Baillargeon (224, 2008-11). She reached the milestone during the second stanza when she tossed the ball from behind the cage onto the stick of Wilbert. Wilbert did the rest as she immediately dumped the pass into the net to push the Ravens ahead 11-7. Briana Sweeney completed the game with a match-best seven points with two goals and five helpers.

Wilbert had a strong game for FPU amassing four goals and one assist. Caitlin Sweeney chipped in three markers, a game-high eight draw controls, and two groundballs. Teammate Caroline Lounsbury (Franklin, Mass.) tallied a hat trick (three goals). Casey Butera (West Milford, N.J.) started in goal for FPU and allowed four goals in 17 minutes in net. She was replaced by Madison Murray (Berkley, Mich.) who made five saves and earned her third win of the year.

Purple Knight attack Ashley Dineen and Alex Vincent added four-point efforts for the guests and Victoria Putnam stopped only five shots in 37:17 minutes in the cage.

Lounsbury started the contest with the first score via a Briana Sweeney feed bounced in. Two minutes later, Vincent used a bouncing shot of her own to convert a free position attempt to tie the contest. A Caitlin Sweeney spin and dump in off a defender reestablished the edge towards FPU at 2-1. Ashley Dineen made a free position attempt and a Vincent unassisted tally gave the Purple Knights a short-lived lead.

Trailing 6-5 following another Vincent free position goal, Franklin Pierce closed the half notching three scores to establish an 8-6 intermission advantage. Caitlin Sweeney tied the score at 6-6 by making a running snipe high cheddar. Freshman midfielder Maddie Hasson (Newington, Conn.) scooped up a groundball after a caused turnover by Briana Sweeney. Hasson ran straight down the middle of the Purple Knight defense and rifled home a high shot to give the Ravens a lead they would not relinquish. Wilbert capped the second half scoring with her 13th goal of the year to move the Crimson and Grey ahead 8-6.

In the second half, Franklin Pierce boosted three more goals to carry their scoring run into the second half as Sweeney's 200th career point pushed the advantage to 11-6. A Caitlin Sweeney free position goal grew the score to 14-8. Saint Michael's began to mount a comeback by outscoring the Ravens 4-1 over the next 10 minutes to cut their deficit to three. The Ravens defense played keep away as they held possessions and kept the Purple Knights out of the scoring column.

The Ravens play host to NE10 opponent American International College Saturday for a Senior Day showdown at 2:00 p.m.
