Ravens among 19 Division II squads to receive accolades

IWLCA Academic Squads

RINDGE, N.H. (August 22, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team has been named as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association Academic Squad, as announced last week by the IWLCA.

The Ravens are among 19 Division II teams to be selected to the award, which was received by 123 schools across all three divisions. To receive the award from the IWLCA, teams were required to post a 3.0 grade-point average or higher. The Ravens checked in with a GPA of 3.05.

Of the 19 Division II teams honored, only three came from the Northeast-10 Conference. Franklin Pierce was joined by both Bentley and Merrimack.

The Ravens finished the 2012 season at 6-10 (4-8 Northeast-10), one off the program record for wins for the third consecutive season. The team showed a defensive resurgence, posting a team goals-against average of 14.44, the lowest mark for the program in eight years.
