Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 1 Adelphi 24-3
Bri Nash has three-point day for the Ravens
RINDGE, N.H. (April 17, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce
University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 1-nationally ranked
Adelphi, 24-3, on Sunday morning at Sodexo Field in Rindge. The
Ravens fell to 6-6 overall and 3-5 in the Northeast-10, while the
Panthers improved to 11-0 and 8-0 in league play.
Junior midfielder Brianna Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.)
had a three-point afternoon for the Ravens as she scored a goal and
assisted on two others. Senior attacker Lauren Stille
(North Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder
Lindsey Leach (Hamden, Conn.) each tallied a
marker in the setback.
Eric Devito threw in a game-high four goals for the Panthers, while
assisting on two others for a six-point contest. In all, 13 Adelphi
players scored, including six who had multiple goals. Claire
Peterson scored a goal and tallied a game-high eight assists to
produce a nine-point afternoon.
Jillian Bolduc (Atkinson, N.H.) started in goal
for Franklin Pierce and took the loss after yielding 24 goals,
while making nine saves. Adelphi out-shot the Ravens by a 38-7
margin. Frankie Caridi started in goal Adelphi and earned the win
after she saves in 48:33 of action.
The Panthers scored three times in the first 48 seconds and scored
10 goals before Nash tossed in Franklin Pierce's first tally at the
21:23 mark of the first half.
Adelphi would add 10 more goals in the remaining minutes of the
first half to build a 20-1 advantage at halftime. Leach and Stille
would score their goals for Franklin Pierce in the second 30
minutes.
Franklin Pierce returns to action Wednesday night when the Ravens
play host to Saint Anselm at 6 p.m. in Sodexo Field. The game will
be a Pierce Pride contest with giveaways being handed out to 150
college students.
