RINDGE, N.H. (April 28, 2010) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team concluded its 2010 season on Wednesday evening with a 26-11 loss to Merrimack at Sodexo Field in Rindge. The Ravens finished the season with a 6-9 record and a 4-7 mark in the Northeast-10, however, they did win three of their final five games. Merrimack improved to 10-2 and 8-2 in league play.

Junior attack Jordan Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass.) logged a six-point evening for the Ravens as she had a team-high three goals and three assists. Christine McKay (Norwood, Mass.) and Lauren Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) each had two goals on the night, while Stille assisted on two other goals for four points.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Bolduc (Atkinson, N.H.) started in net and made 10 saves while suffering the loss.

Three Merrimack players had at least five goals in the game, including Mia Basile (6), Kelly Pasquantonio (5) and Colleen Strachan (5). Basile and Strachan also picked up a pair of assists to record seven-point nights.

Merrimack scored the game’s opening four goals a little more than three minutes into the contest and eventually built a 9-1 lead with 19:53 remaining in the first half.

However, the Ravens did try to battle back and pulled to within 11-6 with 10:58 left in the opening half on a goal by Stille. Franklin Pierce scored on each of its first four shots of the game, including getting makers from Baillargeon, Lauren Stille, Mary Kate Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) and Baillargeon once again.

The Warriors regrouped from Franklin Pierce’s mini-rally and scored four of the last six goals of the half to take a 15-8 lead into halftime.  Merrimack built off the momentum of its late run in the first half and scored three-straight goals in the second half to gain an 18-8 advantage.

McKay tossed in another goal for Franklin Pierce to make it 18-9 with 24:55 remaining, but Merrimack answered with seven-consecutive goals to put the game out of reach and earn the win.

McKay ended the game with the two goals and an assist for three points, while senior attacker Meghan Masterson (Sharon, Mass.) collected an assist in her final collegiate game. Masterson was honored prior to the game for her four years of commitment to the program. She concluded her career with 47 games played (21 starts), 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points.
