The Ravens held off a late rally by AIC to improve to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in the Northeast-10. AIC fell to 7-6 and 2-6 in league play.

Sophomores Mary Kate Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) and Brianna Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.) each scored four goals to pace the Franklin Pierce offensive attack on the evening. It marked the third-straight game Stille scored at least three goals.

Lauren Stille’s goal with 21:46 to go in the second half staked the Ravens to a commanding 14-6 lead. However, American International mounted a furious rally that turned the remaining minutes of the game into a barn-burner.

The Yellow Jackets responded to Stille’s goal by totaling six-straight scores to pull within 14-12 with 7:03 remaining. Courtney and Ashleigh Szawlowski took turns scoring a pair of goals to spark the surge, while Warner followed with a tally of her own. Courtney Szawlowski capped the rally with yet another goal.

Mary Kate Stille stemmed the tide at the 6:54 mark with a goal to extend the Ravens’ lead to 15-12.

Ashleigh Szawlowski got a marker just 33 seconds after Stille’s goal to bring AIC to within two, but Baillargeon threw in a goal with 2:22 remaining to seal the win for Franklin Pierce.

Franklin Pierce outshot the Yellow Jackets by a count of 50-33 and collected 38 ground balls to AIC’s 25. The Ravens were a solid 14-of-19 in clear attempts, while holding American International to just 13 successful tries on 21 clear attempts.

The Ravens scored the game’s first three goals in the opening three-and-a-half minutes. Nash, Lauren and Mary Kate Stille each got a marker during the run. Ashleigh Szawlowski finally got AIC on the board with a goal at the 21:56 mark, but the Ravens answered with three more goals to take a 6-1 lead with 13:46 left until halftime.
