Women's Lacrosse Falls at Adelphi, 24-7, on Saturday

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (March 27, 2010) -- The Franklin
Pierce University women's lacrosse team fell at Adelphi on Saturday
by a count of 24-7 in Garden City, N.Y. The Ravens fell to 2-3
overall and 0-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Panthers improved to
6-0 and 3-0 in league play.
Freshman midfielder Courtney Webber (Centerport,
N.Y.) scored a team-high four goals and added an assist
for a five-point afternoon for the Ravens. Sophomore attack
Brianna Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.) added two goals,
while freshman midfielder Ashley Lamagdeleine (Westfield,
Mass.) scored once.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Bolduc (Atkinson,
N.H.) faced 38 shots and made 14 saves in suffering the
loss for the Ravens.
Marissa Mills and Elizabeth Fey each scored five times to pace
Adelphi's offensive attack. Michelle Ceraso added four goals, while
Kaitlyn Carter notched three tallies coming off the bench. Caitlin
Fitzpatrick made 11 saves in earning the win in goal for the
Panthers.
The Ravens hung tough with Adelphi in the early going and only
trailed 3-2 six minutes into the game. Webber scored both goals for
Franklin Pierce during the run.
However, Adelphi broke the game open with 11-consecutive goals and
12 of the final 13 in the first half to take a 15-3 lead into
halftime. Nash scored Franklin Pierce's lone goal during Adelphi's
late surge. Fey had four tallies for the Panthers during the flurry
of activity.
Adelphi continued its strong offensive play in the opening stages
of the second half as it scored five of the first six goals to take
a commanding 20-4 lead.
Franklin Pierce returns to action Tuesday night when the Ravens
play host to Keene State at 6 p.m. at Sodexo Field in Rindge. For
