BOXSCORE

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 18, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team concluded its Florida spring break trip with a tough 13-8 loss to Pfeiffer on Thursday afternoon at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. The Ravens fell to 1-2, while Pfeiffer improved to 7-1.

Sophomore attack Brianna Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Ashley Lamagdeleine (Westfield, Mass.) each scored a pair of goals to pace the Ravens offensive attack.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Bolduc (Atkinson, N.H.) made nine saves in goal and played well despite suffering the loss.

Liz Melesh scored three times for Pfeiffer to lead all goal scorers on the afternoon.

Franklin Pierce battled hard early on and were tied with Pfeiffer at 3-3, 11 minutes into the game. Mary Kate Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) and Ashley Moirano (Vero Beach, Fla.) each scored early on to spark Franklin Pierce.

However, Pfeiffer scored four of the final five goals of the first half to take a 7-4 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Pfeiffer continued its offensive onslaught with four-straight goals to open the second half to take an 11-4 lead. Lamagdeleine scored back-to-back goals and Christine McKay (Norwood, Mass.) added another to pull Franklin Pierce within 11-7, but that was close as the Ravens would get the rest of the way.

Pfeiffer scored two more goals to seal the win.

Franklin Pierce returns to action Tuesday when it opens its 2010 home schedule by playing host to Assumption at 6 p.m. in Sodexo Field.
