RINDGE, N.H. (March 31,
2008) – Freshman Lauren Stille (North
Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) of the Franklin Pierce
University women’s lacrosse team was named the Northeast-10
Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on
Monday afternoon.
Stille scored 11 goals and added one assist in three games last
week to earn her first career conference honor and the
program’s first Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week award since
Courtney Boardman ’05 won the award three times in her
freshman season of 2003. The North Quincy, Mass., native scored a
game-high six goals in the Ravens’ 19-6 loss to Southern New
Hampshire University on Tuesday afternoon, then scored a team-high
five times and recorded an assist against Bryant University on
Thursday night.
Through the team’s first six games of the year, Stille paces
the Ravens with 23 goals and three assists for 26 points, which
places her tied for sixth in the NE-10 in goals per game (3.83/gm)
and eighth in points per game (4.33/gm). She has scored five goals
or more three times this season, including a seven-goal, one-assist
effort against Southern Connecticut on March 18 that tied for fifth
in both single-game goals and points at the school.
The freshman attacker also already ranks third all-time in
freshman scoring at Franklin Pierce with her 23 goals, and with 10
matches remaining has a chance to break the single-season freshman
record of 43 tallies set by Boardman in 2003.
