Women's Ice Hockey: Ravens Take Down Sacred Heart Pioneers, Advance to NEWHA Semifinals for Third Straight Year

FAIRFIELD, CT (2/24/2024) -- In game two of the NEWHA Quarterfinals, the Franklin Pierce Ravens beat the Sacred Heart Pioneers 2-0 to advance to the NEWHA Semifinals for the third straight year. The Ravens have knocked out the Pioneers in the playoffs three years in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the first period, Franklin Pierce sophomore forward Grace Schuck (Bloomington, MN) scored the game's first goal on a feed in the slot by sophomore forward Sydnee Wilson (Port Moody, B.C.). The Ravens led 1-0 heading into the first intermission.
• With under three minutes to go in the game, sophomore transfer forward Anna Caumo (Brunico, Italy) scored her second goal of the postseason to give Franklin Pierce a two-goal cushion.
• Sophomore goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, III) stood on her head from start to finish as a brick wall for the Ravens recording 29 saves on 29 shots on net.
• Franklin Pierce completed the sweep against Sacred Heart, and they are headed to the NEWHA Semifinals for the third straight year.
