HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens got it started early scoring within the first three minutes from a blue line shot from Delaney Bonifacio (Traverse City, Mich.) giving the Ravens an early lead.

  • With five minutes left in the first period, Memphis Mertens (Roseau, Minn.) intercepted a pass from her defensive zone and went coast to coast putting it top shelf giving the Ravens a 2-0 advantage.

  • The Ravens would score again less than a minute later, with the Ravens on the power play, Emilie Prive (Morisville, VT) looked to pass it across the crease but found its way into the net extending the Raven lead to 3.

  • Stonehill was able to get on the board to start the second period where Maeve Carey off the faceoff got the puck with a lot of space and threaded it past Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) and cutting the lead to 3-1.

  • With three minutes left to go, Lauren Maras (Alexandria, Minn.) received the puck from Jenna Ruiz (Webster, Wis.) and her shot was deflected up into the air but managed to float into the net, making it 4-1.

  • Then 14 seconds later, yes seconds, with multiple Ravens crashing the net on a second chance opportunity, Claire Casey (Superior, Wis.) claimed a loose puck goal in the crease making it a four-goal lead going into the third period.

  • Around the ten-minute mark in the third period, Lauren Maras was able to find the back of the net again on a loose puck opportunity and seized it, making it 6-1.

  • The Skyhawks would get one back three minutes later on the powerplay off of a nice team play with Paige Whaley getting the goal, making it 6-2.

  • In the dying second of the third period, Maeve Carey took a slap shot close to the blue line and was able to net it, cutting the lead to 3 but was not enough to comeback.
