Women's Ice Hockey: Ravens' fall in overtime to the Hawks, 2-1.

WINCHENDON, M.A (11/17/2023) -- In game one of the weekend series, the Franklin Pierce women's hockey team saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 2-1 loss in overtime to their intra-state rival, St. Anselm.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Ravens struck first with less than four minutes to go in the opening period. Franklin Pierce senior forward Emilie Prive (Morrisville, Vermont) scored her second goal in three games. Prive was in the slot, and she buried the puck past freshman goaltender Courtney Stagman on a great pass behind the net by freshman forward Lauren Maras (Alexandria, MN).

• With less than six minutes to go in regulation, junior forward Audrey Jackson scored her third goal of the season and first on the power play to tie the game at one.

• The Hawks completed the comeback over the Ravens 25 seconds into overtime on Brinna Martin's third goal of the season.

 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, III) made 37 saves on 39 shots in the loss.

• Franklin Pierce was 0 for 5 on the power play.

• Franklin Pierce women's hockey hits the road tomorrow to Sullivan Arena in Manchester, NH, to take on St. Anselm with puck drop at 3 p.m.
