Women's Ice Hockey: Ravens' Dominate Penalty Kill Leads to Weekend Sweep over Post, 3-1.

Winchendon, Mass. (11/11/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce Womens Ice Hockey team completed the weekend series sweep versus Post University after losing two straight weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Mikalya Kelley (Eagan, Minn.) got it started early for the Ravens after scoring on her own second chance opportunity within the first five minutes of the opening period.  

  • Ten minutes later, Kelley got another second chance opportunity and flushed it in for her fourth goal of the weekend.  

  • At the 11-minute mark in the second period, Jenna Hartung (Burnsville, Minn.) had space and put another one in for the Ravens giving them some insurance.  

  • With 40 seconds left in the game, Jodie Rose for Post was able to deflect one in ending the shutout making it 3-1.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • Olivia Klunowski (Toronto, Ontario) made 12 saves on 13 shots while Eagles goaltender Hannah Saunders made 20 saves on 23 shots. 

  • Franklin Pierce outshot Post 23-14 

  • Ravens were 0-3 on the power play while the Eagles were 1-6 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: 

  • The Ravens look to continue their winning streak against Saint Anselm with Friday the 17th at home while Saturday the 18th will be on the road versus those same Hawks.
