HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Junior forward Sydney Antonakis scored her first goal of the season to give Sacred Heart a 1-0 lead five minutes into the contest. Junior forward Kate Helgeson found Antonakis in the slot, and she buried past sophomore goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, III.)

• In the second period, the Pioneers jumped to a 2-0 lead on a powerplay goal by graduate defender Emily Wisnewski. Sacred Heart was working the puck around, and Wisnewski fired a shot by Hertl for her first goal of the season.

• Less than two minutes into the third period, junior forward Alyssa Kawa (Hamilton, Ontario) scored her sixth goal of the season on the power play. Junior defender Julia Stevens's (Minneapolis, MN) initial shot was deflected in front, and Kawa was there on the doorstep for Franklin Pierce's first goal of the night to cut the Pioneers lead in half.

• The final three goals were scored by Antonakis of the Pioneers. She scored her second goal of the night on the power play to make it 3-1. With 6:50 left to go in the game, she picked up the hat trick to make it 4-1. With 91 seconds left, she scored her fourth goal to make it 5-1. She finished the night with four goals and powered Sacred Heart to their first win of the season.
