SHELTON, Conn. (November 19, 2021) -- After being stuck on 99 career points for four games, graduate student Marissa Massaro (Brockton, Mass.) finally cashed in her 100th -- followed by her 101st and 102nd -- on Friday afternoon at Sports Center of Connecticut, as the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team cruised to a 9-0 road win over Post. Massaro scored twice and added an assist in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance contest, to run her career totals to 102 points on 39 goals and 63 assists. She is the sixth 100-point scorer in program history.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 7-4-1 (4-1-0 NEWHA), has posted three straight shutouts, and is unbeaten in its last six (5-0-1). With the loss, Post falls to 2-10-0 (2-6-0 NEWHA). The two will wrap up the weekend series on Saturday, with a 3:30 p.m. start at Sports Center of Connecticut.

Massaro is now tied for fourth all-time in program history, and one point in back of third. Alex Brolsma '18 is the program's all-time scoring leader, at 49-74-123.

The Ravens kicked things off with a three-goal first and never looked back. The party got started at the 5:40 mark, after junior Katelyn Brightbill (Silver Spring, Md.) and sophomore Jenna Ruiz (Webster, Wis.) combined to work the puck to sophomore Emilie Prive (Morrisville, Vt.) on the rush. Prive made a power move around her defender on the left-wing side, cut out front and backhanded home her fourth of the season.

Massaro would check in with her long-awaited 100th career point at 16:53. Coming from the left-wing side, Massaro initially tried to wrap around behind the net to the right post, but ended up sending the puck out front, where freshman Mikayla Kelley (Eagan, Minn.) was waiting, and the latter hammered the first goal of her collegiate career into the left side of the net. Junior Ava Kison (Eau Claire, Wis.) capped the stanza at 19:08, as she banged home a loose puck at the right post for her fifth goal of the year.

Three more in the second built the lead out to 6-0. First, on the power play and with a delayed penalty pending, junior Becca Kniss (Eden Prairie, Minn.) took the puck on a grand circle tour of the offensive zone, as she carried down the right wing, behind the net, up the left wing and into the high slot, before dishing off to graduate student Katerina Dajia (Aurora, Ontario) at the point. Dajia found Prive in the left circle, and the latter snapped home her second of the game from there.

Massaro took over later in the middle period, as her third and fourth of the year came at 15:06 and 19:03, respectively. On the former, she was able to stuff home a wrap-around attempt at the right post, and on the latter she roofed a backhand shot from the bottom of the left circle.

The Ravens tacked on three more in the third to win going away, 9-0. Freshman Geno Hendrickson (Warroad, Minn.) salted home a rebound out front at 2:23 for her third goal in as many games. Junior Cassidy Jones (Stillwater, Minn.) redirected home a rebound with her skate at 4:43 to tally her second of the campaign. Ruiz then finished things off at 12:16, as she walked out front from the left wing to notch her team-leading sixth of the year.

Senior Emme Ostrander (Westborough, Mass.) stopped all 12 shots on her goal to pick up the win (3-3-0) and her third straight shutout in the Franklin Pierce crease. Her personal shutout streak now stands at 235:47 dating to the first period at Saint Anselm on Oct. 29. It was the 15th shutout of Ostrander's career, which established a new program record, breaking a tie at 14 with Shannon O'Neil '17.

Senior Kristin Smith (1-1-0) started for Post and made 30 saves against 37 shots over 42:23 in the crease. Sophomore Grace Glasrud came on for the final 17:37 and stopped 11 of 13 shots in relief.
