WORCESTER, Mass. (November 15, 2014) – With just 3:24 to play in a 1-1 game, sophomore forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) struck for her fourth goal in two days, to give the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team a 2-1 win on the road over Holy Cross in ECAC East play at Hart Recreation Center. Freshman forward Kara Violette had the lone goal in defeat for Holy Cross.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 3-1-0 (3-1-0 ECAC East), while Holy Cross falls to 4-1-0 (2-1-0 ECAC East). It marked the second time in as many days Franklin Pierce handed a team its first loss of the season.

The Ravens outshot Holy Cross, 9-5, in a scoreless first period. The Crusaders controlled play over the final 40 minutes, outshooting Franklin Pierce 14-2 in the second period and 12-3 in the final stanza, though the Ravens came away with two of the game's three goals. Each team came up empty on four power-play opportunities, while Holy Cross' only goal was a shorthanded tally.

Franklin Pierce picked up the only goal of the second period, at the 7:06 mark. Junior forward Karsyn Baker (Detroit, Mich.) scored her second goal of the season, while junior defenseman Hayley Arnold (Barre, Vt.) dished out the lone assist.

The teams traded goals in the final frame to create the 2-1 final. Despite being shorthanded, Holy Cross evened the game at 1-1 at the 6:24 mark. Violette picked up the shorthanded tally, her third goal of the campaign, with senior defenseman Francesca Panarelli providing the assist.

From there, the game remained tied until the final four minutes, when Ketterman scored her second game-winning goal in as many days. At the 16:36 mark, she put away her fourth of the season -- her fourth of the weekend -- while freshman forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) chipped in the lone helper to cap her four-point weekend (1-3-4).

Sophomore goaltender Shannon O'Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.), eight days removed from piling up 35 saves in a losing effort, finished with 30 saves against 31 shots to pick up the win (1-1-0) in goal for Franklin Pierce. At the other end of the ice, senior Krista Manzanares made just 12 saves against 14 shots and suffered the loss (2-1-0) for Holy Cross.
