Women’s Golf Paces Field on First Day of NE10 Championship

CONCORD, N.H. (October 9, 2021) – It was a full team effort for the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team on Saturday, during the first day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Southern New Hampshire. Led by junior Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and freshman Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand), the Ravens finished the round atop the scoreboard with 314 total strokes (+26) on the 5807-yard, par-72 course at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

On the team board, Franklin Pierce sits 19 strokes ahead of second-place Le Moyne College (333/+45), and 23 strokes ahead of the third-place Assumption University (337/+49). Stonehill (338/+50), Adelphi (348/+60) and Saint Rose (359/+71) round out the six-team field.

Godek and Prukmathakul both finished the round at 78 (+6) to tie each other for fifth place on the individual leaderboard. Sophomore Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.) and freshman Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) followed one stroke behind at 79 (+7), as part of a four-way tie for seventh.

Junior Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) rounded out the Ravens' lineup with an 83 (+11) and is in sole possession of 15th place at the midway point of the 33-player tournament.

Godek and Prukmathakul are both four shots back of the first-round individual leader, Saint Rose sophomore Erika Fuentes, who carded the low round of the day at 74 (+2). SNHU senior Anna Casagrande follows two shots off the pace, at 76 (+4).

The NE10 Championship will conclude on Sunday at Beaver Meadow, as the Ravens look to win their third straight title.
