"This was a great experience for our team and our golf program," said head coach Tyler Bishop '08, '10 after the round. "Making it to the NCAA East Regional was a goal of ours and I am so happy for our players they got to experience it!"

At the top of the field, host UIndy ran away with the East Region title, with a three-day score of 890 (+26), which was good for a 22-shot victory. Second-place Findlay at 912 (+48) and third-place Grand Valley State at 925 (+61) also punched their tickets through to the NCAA Championship finals, which are set for May 11-15 at TPC Michigan in Detroit.

Individually, UIndy junior Cailyn Henderson, who had shared the lead after each of the first two days, turned in a final-round 74 (+2) for a three-day total of 219 (+3), which earned her medalist honors by one shot over GVSU senior Katie Chipman at 220 (+4). Missouri-St. Louis senior Emma Thorngren, who had shared the lead after round one and fallen back to tied-ninth after two rounds, had the round of the tournament with a one-under-par 71 to finish third, with a three-day total of 221 (+5). Four golfers finished tied-fourth at 224 (+8).

The top three individuals not on an advancing team also qualified for the NCAA Championship finals. Those honors went to Thorngren, along with Northwood (Mich.) senior Sydni Harding in eighth at 225 (+9) and Tiffin graduate student Alice Putoud in 10th at 228 (+12).
