Women’s Golf Claims Victory at Assumption Invitational

BOYLSTON, Mass. (April 19, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team chalked up an eight-shot victory at the four-team Assumption Invitational on Monday. The Ravens put together a team score of 341 (+53) to beat out the host Greyhounds at the par-72 Cyprian Keyes Golf Club.

Assumption tallied 349 strokes (+61) to place second, while Stonehill took third with a 354 (+66) and Adelphi rounded out the four-team field at 376 (+88).

Franklin Pierce was led by graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii), who carded an 83 (+11). Sophomore Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) added an 84 (+12), while freshman Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.) contributed an 86 (+14).

Sophomore Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) and graduate student Taylor Hartley (Las Vegas, Nev.) matched each other for the fourth and final scoring position, as each shot an 88 (+16). Playing as an individual, freshman Alexis St. Laurent (Nashua, N.H.) turned in a 95 (+22).

The event was the final tune-up for the Ravens before the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, which is scheduled for Thursday, April 22, at Cold Spring Country Club in Belchertown, Mass.
