HEBRON, Conn. (March 23, 2021) – For the first time in 2021 the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team hit the links for a match at the Black Ledge Country Club hosted by the University of Hartford. Graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the Ravens finishing the round tied for first at even par (72).

Yamamoto a former NE10 Rookie of the Year in 2016-17 and three-time NE10 Conference First Team member returned for a fifth year to lead the team shooting 15 strokes under her closest teammate in the process. The Ravens were also the only Division II program to compete in the invitational.

Sophomore Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) and Freshman Alexis St. Laurent (Nashua, N.H.) followed Yamamoto on the Franklin Pierce score card shooting 87 (+15) and 88 (+16), and both placing in the top 25 of the field.

Rounding out the Ravens squad were Graduate student Taylor Hartley (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Sophomore Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) with 89 (+17) and 90 (+18) on the scorecard and both placing within the top 30.

As a team, Franklin Pierce placed fifth out of the seven teams at the tourney. Franklin Pierce shot a combined 336 (+48) trailing fourth place Sacred Heart University by only 5 strokes.

The Ravens are back in action next week on April 5th on the road at the Nashua Country Club.
