Ravens in Second After First Day of Corbett Classic

ERIE, Pa. (September 10, 2017) After a first place finish at the Penmen Labor Day Classic, the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team returned to the course on Sunday at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic hosted by Gannon University at the Lake Shore Country Club.

Currently, the Crimson and Grey are in tie for second place at 319 (+31) with Ashland University. Franklin Pierce is eight strokes behind Kutztown University who tallied a low of 311 (+23) and are five strokes ahead of West Chester University who sit in fourth.

Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) and Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) had strong showings for FPU as Morrison is tied for third place at 75 (+3) and Yamamoto is tied for seventh at 77 (+5). Morrison is only one stroke behind the clubhouse leader, Lacey Bensing from West Chester while Yamamoto is three back.

Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) was the only other Raven golfer to wrap up day one within the top-20 as she's tied for 17th place at 81 (+9). Teammates Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) and Taylor Hartley (Battle Ground, Wash.) produced 86 (+14) and 89 (+17) scorecards as well.

The Ravens look to improve their spots in the standings tomorrow during their final round.
