NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (October 5, 2014) – Freshman Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) shot an 85 on Saturday to tie for 17^th in the field, and to lead the Franklin Pierce Women's Golf team to eighth place after day one of the Merrimack College Women's Invitational. Haynes was the only Raven in the 80's on the day.

Classmate Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) finished in a tie for 27^th after shooting a 91, marking the second-best Raven on the board, while freshman Ashley Chubbuck (Windsor, M.E.) finished tied for 35^th after shooting a 95.

Freshman Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) and Katy Lounsbery (Middletown, N.Y.) rounded out the Ravens participation for the day. Morrison shot a 96 while Lounsbery shot a 117 to finish out her round.

Grand Valley State leads both the team standings and individual standings after day one, with their top two golfers on top of the leaderboard. Gabrielle Shipley led the way, shooting lights out and finishing with 70, while teammate and second place finisher Kelly Hartigan sits seven strokes back going into day two.

After Grand Valley State, the standings are Missouri-St.Louis, Merrimack, Walsh, Holy Cross, Wheeling Jesuit, LeMoyne, Franklin Pierce, and Southern New Hampshire.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow, Monday, October 06 as things tee off beginning at 8 a.m.
