Morrison WEST CHESTER, Pa. (April 12, 2015) – After the first day of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, hosted by West Chester, the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team sits eighth, out of 10 teams. The Ravens shot a 377 (+89) on Sunday at the par-72, 5810-yard Penn Oaks Golf Club.

The Ravens sit 40 shots behind first-place and host West Chester, which turned in a 337 (+49) on the first day of the Cottrell Invitational. West Chester holds a nine-shot lead over second-place Kutztown, which put together a 346 (+58).

Freshman Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) shot a team-best 92 (+20) for the Ravens on Sunday, and is 25th out of 50 golfers overall. Freshmen Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.), Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) and Ashley Chubbuck (Windsor, Maine) each turned in a 95 (+23) to round out the team's scoring quartet. Meanwhile, freshman Katy Lounsbery (Middletown, N.Y.) carded a 133 to round out Franklin Pierce's participation on the day.

Individually, West Chester's Taylor Daskivich got around the Penn Oaks GC in 80 shots (+8) to lead the field on Sunday. She holds a four-shot lead over five different golfers, who each shot an 84 (+12), including her own teammate, Lacey Bensing.

The Cottrell Invitational concludes with its second round on Monday at Penn Oaks GC.
