Bowling Wins Twice in Five Tries on Second Day of KU Fall Baker Invite

Marcure leads way for Ravens

READING, Pa. (October 18, 2015) – After splitting six matches in the Baker format on Saturday, the Franklin Pierce University bowling team went 2-3 in traditional team format matches on Sunday, to wrap up play at the KU Fall Baker Invite, hosted by Kutztown at Berks Lanes.

Franklin Pierce averaged 825.8 pins across five matches on Sunday and twice topped 850. The Ravens opened by hitting 850 right on the nose, but took a loss, as St. Francis (N.Y.) piled up 983 pins. The highest total of the day for Franklin Pierce would come in the next match, resulting in an 851-782 win over Howard. The Ravens dropped their next two -- to Saint Francis (Pa.), 907-770, and to Long Island, 907-816 -- before capping the weekend with a win over Daemen, 845-765.

Sophomore Jessica Marcure (Attleboro, Mass.) led the way for Franklin Pierce, with an average of 175 pins over five games, while topping out with a 228 in the win over Howard. Sophomore Nicolette Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) was next, with a five-game average of 172.2 pins, including a high of 185 in the win over Daemen. Sophomore Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) was the final Raven to bowl in all five matches, as she posted an average pin fall of 167.2, with a high of 178, which came against Daemen.

The Ravens return to the lanes next weekend, on Saturday, Oct. 24, when they travel to the SHU Bowl for a Cure Invitational, hosted by Sacred Heart at Wallingford Bowl in Wallingford, Conn.
