KUTZTOWN, Pa. (February 13, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce bowling team returned to competition after a two-week break on Friday, as the Ravens took to the lanes at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown University. Unfortunately for the Ravens, they were faced with a tough schedule, only taking one of five Baker matches on the day.

The Ravens opened up their day strong against Cheyney, but were on the wrong side of the win loss column as they took defeat by a score of 923-838. Franklin Pierce then faced a tough opponent in Saint Francis (Pa.), and were handedly defeated by a score of 924-814. The Ravens third match brought an interesting dynamic, as they faced Caldwell. Despite bowling their lowest score of the day, the Ravens came out with an 801-652 win over the Cougars. Franklin Pierce had to pump it up one more time as they faced Fairleigh Dickinson University, and were defeated by a slim margin, 852-822. In their fifth and final match of the day, the Ravens were pitted against Delaware State, and again were defeated 944-877.

On the day, the Ravens averaged a score of 830.4, as opponents averaged a total of 859. In their losses however, opponents averaged 910.75.

The second day of seeding will come on Saturday, with the bracket style coming up on Sunday. The Ravens will play another five matches before their seed for Sunday is determined.
