Women’s Bowling opens 2015 at Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. (January 30, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Bowling team opened their 2015 calendar with a valiant effort, going 2-3 in the first day of the in the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis University (Pa.).

The tournament was featured in a Baker format today, with individual matches coming in the following days of the event. Baker style has the whole team patrticipate as one, with bowler A shooting the one and five, bowler B shooting the two and six, and so on.

In the Ravens first event, they came out a little rusty as they dropped to the host Saint Francis (Pa.) 960-849. Franklin Pierce then faced Cheyney, where that rust fell off and defeated them by a score of 938-852. In the third event, the Ravens came out on the short end of a 897-849 match against Felician. Match four brought a new challenge, and along with it came a victory over Mount Aloysius College 904-777. In the Ravens final match of the day, they would face New Jersey City, and end their day on a loss by a score 777-740.

Franklin Pierce will return to the lanes tomorrow, January 31 for day two of the Red Flash Invitational.
