Women's Basketball: Ravens Fall Short in Intrastate Battle with SNHU, 55-50

RINDGE, NH (1/27/24) - After snapping their three-game losing streak against Saint Michael's on Wednesday, the Ravens lost a close battle with the Southern New Hampshire Penmen 55-50 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Ravens outscored the Penmen 14-9 in the first quarter, having 3 steals and 14 rebounds to aid their offensive effort.  
  • The Penmen would surge in the second quarter, scoring 21 points compared to the Ravens' 11. Penmen Graduate center Adriana Timberlake scored 10 of those points.  
  • The Ravens bounced back in the third quarter and put themselves within 4 points entering the fourth quarter. Senior forward Colette Mulderig (Scranton, PA) led the way with 6 points and 4 rebounds.  
  • The Ravens were unable to complete a comeback as the Penmen outscored them 16-15 to seal their 12th win and hand the Ravens their fourth loss in their last five games.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Penmen shot 35% from the field (19 for 54). The Ravens shot 26% from the field (18 for 69). 
  • The Penmen shot 40% from beyond the arc (4 for 10). The Ravens shot 19% from beyond the arc (4 for 21).  
  • The Ravens shot 82% from the free-throw line (10 for 12). The Penmen shot 72% from the line (13 for 18)  
  • The Penmen had 18 turnovers compared to the Ravens' 9. The Ravens scored 12 points off turnovers while the Penmen scored 7 off turnovers.  

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will be back in the Fieldhouse on Tuesday, January 30th to take on the Saint Rose Golden Knights. Tip-off will be at 5:30pm.
