HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Badosa Soler (Girona, Spain) led the Ravens across the board after she dumped in 12 points and tallied eight rebounds. Geanna Bryant (Boston, Mass.) was next in line with 11 points and was the only other Raven to break the ten-point marker.
  • The first and the third quarter went to the Ravens, but the second and the fourth quarters gave the Chargers enough to grab the 13-point victory.
  • In the first quarter, the two teams traded points but the Ravens closed out the first ten minutes with a 13-11 lead. All but two points from Soler came from non-starters on the Ravens, including Sara Macary (Naugatuck, Conn.) who led with four points after she went 2-2 from the field.
  • During the second quarter, the Chargers charged up their offense with a game high 23 points. As UNH picked up speed, the Ravens stalled only grabbing 11 points. Heading into halftime, FPU trailed 34-24.
  • Mirroring the first quarter, the Ravens fought back in the third quarter and outscored the Chargers 14-12 led by Macary who put up five points. Though they won the quarter, the Ravens entered the fourth down 46-38.
  • The Ravens played their best offense in the fourth quarter putting up 15 points, nine of which came from Soler, but the Chargers kept their foot on the gas and countered with a 20-piece that helped them secure the 66-53 victory.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • The Ravens had plenty of offensive opportunities and even outshot the Chargers, but the team couldn't finish and went 20 for 66 (30.3%) from the field. From the three-point arc, the team struggled as well only hitting three of their 22 shots (13.6%). The team did capitalize at the free throw line hitting 10 of 14 (71.4%).
  • Under the net, the Chargers dominated rebounds after the team grabbed 40 boards compared to the Ravens' 29.
