James Willette enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team in 2017. Willette is responsible for coaching the team's defensive line.

Willette (bio) was a member of the first graduating class of Franklin Pierce's sprint football program, which began play in 2012. His alma mater marks his first collegiate coaching stop.

A four-year member of the Ravens, entirely on the defensive side of the ball and primarily as a linebacker, Willette played in every game from the program's inception through his graduation. He capped his career with All-Collegiate Sprint Football League Second Team honors as a senior in 2015, when he piled up 55 tackles (24 solo), to go with half a sack, 6.5 tackles for loss (18 yards) and two pass break ups. For his career, Willette tallied 205 tackles in 26 games, and was the team's leading tackler in each of his four seasons in crimson and grey.

Originally from Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Willette is a 2016 graduate of Franklin Pierce, and is pursuing his master's degree from the University.
