Sprint Football’s Revere Named CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week

RINDGE, N.H. (November 8, 2016) – Freshman Alex Revere (Boston, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team has been named Collegiate Sprint Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the League office.

On special teams in Friday night's win at Cornell, Revere returned two kicks for 79 yards. His big return of the night, a 59-yard return early in the second quarter, set up what would be just a 31-yard touchdown drive for the Ravens, who opened up a 12-3 lead en route to the 24-17 win. Also on the day, Revere added three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Revere returned 11 kicks for 154 yards (14 yards per return), and Friday's 59-yard return was his longest of the season. He has also added eight punt returns totaling 60 yards (7.5 yards per return) on the campaign. As a receiver, Revere had a team-best 19 catches for 315 yards (16.6 yards per reception) and three touchdowns.
