Bio

James Rines enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University softball program in 2024.

Over the last three decades, Rines has served in many rolls at both the high school and collegiate level. Before his arrival to Pierce in 2021, Rines served as an assistant coach for the Plymouth State University softball program from 2008 to 2014. Back in 1994, Rines founded the New England Diamond Gems program and still serves as both the leader of the program and head coach of the 16U Gold team. Since its creation, Rines has paved the way for 140 athletes to play at the collegiate level.
