MELBOURNE, F.L (3/10/2024) -- The Franklin Pierce softball team scored two runs in the first inning, and that was all they needed to grab the 2-0 win over the Molloy Lions, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the top of the first, sophomore outfielder Savannah Arreguin (Pacoima, CA) scored from second base on a wild pitch to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, senior infielder Haley Bigwood (Athol, MA) hit her second home run of the season to make it 2-0.
• Freshman designated player Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) had two hits. She now has three hits this season.
• The Ravens picked up their sixth win of the season and finished the Florida trip on a three-game winning streak.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Senior pitcher Sabrina Gonzalez (Chandler, AZ) pitched her second complete game and captured her second win of the season. She pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up three hits, two walks, and struck out two batters. 
• Franklin Pierce outhit Molloy 5-3.
• The Lions had two errors and left six runners stranded on base.

• The Ravens hit the road to the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, February 21, for a doubleheader against Chestnut Hill. Game one is at 2 p.m., and game two is at 4 p.m.
