RINDGE, N.H. (May 2, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University softball freshman Cyrena Zemaitis (Goshen, Conn.) has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team and was chosen to the NE10 Third Team as an At-Large selection it was announced Wednesday afternoon by the league offices.

As a team, the Ravens won 10 more games in 2018 than 2017 and earned seven more conference victories. Zemaitis' dominance in the circle was one of the key factors for the Ravens turnaround. She finished the year leading the pitching staff in just about every statistical category. Zemaitis collected eight of the Crimson and Grey's 11 victories going 8-9 with 13 complete games. The newcomer totaled a minuscule 1.90 ERA and produced 138 strikeouts (8.45 K/7) across 114.1 frames.

The seven-time NE10 Weekly Honor Roll pick led the league in K/7 (8.45), ranked fourth in strikeouts, fifth in ERA and 10th in complete games. Zemaitis allowed only two home runs across her 114.1 innings and recorded five double-digit strikeout games. She punched out a career-high 12 batters during a 6-3 game one win at the New York Institute of Technology on March 17th, but her finest outing of the season came just this past Friday, April 27th when she held Merrimack College to two hits and struck out 11 in a complete game 1-0 shutout of the Warriors.
