Bio
2008:
Took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and didn't give up an
earned run against Babson (3/17). Picked up her first win of the
year by scattering three hits and allowing only one run while
striking out a season-high 10 in a complete-game effort against
American International (4/8).
2007:
Made 22 appearances and 21 starts on the mound as a sophomore.
Posted seven wins and a 3.29 ERA over 142 1/3 innings, with 16
complete games and 127 strikeouts. Her strikeout total is second on
the school's single-season list behind only her 2006 total, and she
is the school's all-time strikeout leader after only two seasons.
Also finished the year tied for second on the team with a .250
average with 18 hits in 72 at-bats. Set a new career-high with 13
strikeouts and didn't allow an earned run in a complete-game win
over Wooster in the season-opener (3/17). Pitched a three-hit
shutout and tied career highs with two hits and two RBI against
Albright (3/22). Scattered three hits in a complete-game shutout of
Pace (4/21). Allowed no earned runs in a 10-inning loss to Southern
Connecticut State (4/22).
2006:
Appeared in 20 games on the mound for the Ravens. Posted a
team-best 3.43 ERA in 126.0 innings pitched with a team-high 130
strikeouts and 17 complete games. Limited opponents to a .233
batting average. Became the all-time single season leader in
strikeouts with 130. Registered a win in her first collegiate
appearance, tossing a complete game, two-hitter while allowing only
one earned run (3/19). Hurled ten innings with seven strikeouts and
zero earned runs in a 2-1 victory over Saint Anselm College (4/18).
Posted a season-high 11 strikeouts in six innings pitched against
Stonehill College (4/3).
Before Franklin Pierce:
A 2004 graduate of Fitchburg High School. Member of the softball
team. Earned All-Star honors while competing at Fitchburg. Part of
two district championship teams. Broke the Fitchburg High School
record for career strikeouts.
Personal:
Born January 19, 1986, in Fitchburg, Mass. Daughter of Michael and
Shaun Jacobs. Has two brothers, Rick (27), and Mitch (24). Majoring
in management with a minor in marketing. Supports the Boston Red
Sox. Aspires to open her own floral business.
