Men's & Women's Rowing Opens 2013 Fall Season in Lowell on Sunday

Men's varsity-four boat turns in solid 9th place finish

RESULTS

LOWELL, Mass. (October 6, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s and women’s rowing teams opened their fall 2013 seasons on Sunday by competing in the Textile River Regatta in Lowell, Mass. Both teams entered varsity-four boats in the competition.

The men’s team placed ninth out of 16 squads in its race, as the Ravens produced a time of 23:46.416. The four boat included Bianca Baldelli (Stonington, Conn.) as the coxswain, Jackson Dean (Cohasset, Mass.) at the stroke, Chris Cotta (North Attleboro, Mass.) at the three, Jason Pranulis (Plymouth, Conn.) at the two, and Ryan Lally (Ipswich, Mass.) at the bow.

The ninth place finish was a solid debut for the Ravens, who featured several rowers competing in their first collegiate varsity race.

The women’s team placed 17th out of 19 teams in its competition with a time of 28:48.063. The team was comprised of Erika Hebert (Leominster, Mass.) as the coxswain, Nicole Rode at the stroke, Leah Kaczanowicz (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) at the three, Paige McGroarty (Braintree, Mass.) at the two, and Madelene Morrill (Greenville, Pa.) at the bow.
