As a Freshman (2015): Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week...Peter competed in six races during his freshman season...He placed fifth at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Cross Country Invitational (9/12) with a time of 28:58.0...A week before he finished 13th at Roger Williams (9/5) with a time of 16:45.3...During a home meet, the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup (10/16) he placed 32nd completing the 5k race in 16:31...A week later, he ran in the Northeast-10 Championships (10/25) and finished in 56th place with a time of 27:13.4...Peter also ran at UMass (9/19, 65th place, 26:56.67) and at the NEICAAA Championship (10/10, 189th place, 27:05.21).
Before Franklin Pierce: Four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track & field at Timberlane Regional High School (N.H.)...Team captain of the cross country team as both a junior and a senior.
Personal: Son of Lou and Kathleen Saviano...A marketing major...Has two brothers, Louie and Matt...Brother Louie was a four-year member of the cross country team (bio) and a three-year member of the track & field team (bio) at University of New Hampshire...Also related to Steve Saviano, who tallied 50-57-117 over 139 games in four years with the ice hockey team at University of New Hampshire; Steve earned Hockey East Player of the Year honors as a senior and was a member of the national finalist team as a junior.
