SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 11, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's track & field program had a busy weekend, with athletes competing on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the team competed at American International in Springfield, Mass., at the AIC Invitational II. On Sunday, the squad traveled to New Haven, Conn., and visited Southern Connecticut State for the James Barber Invitational. Sophomore Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) highlighted the weekend on Saturday, as he beat the school record in the shot put, with his throw of 15.13 meters, which was good enough to win the event.

Franklin Pierce was busy in the shot put at AIC. Right behind Everidge was junior Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) with a throw of 14.65 meters. Albee was followed by fellow junior Armani Mette (Randolph, Mass.), who threw 13.77 meters to claim third.

Elsewhere, freshman Sal Lando (Sterling, Mass.) took first in the discus after a throw of 38.48 meters. Mette threw 37.5 meters to follow Lando. In fourth was Everidge, with a 35.97-meter performance.

Many of the same Ravens partook in the hammer as well. Albee took second after a 40.50-meter performance. Everidge came up with a 36.68-meter throw to take third. Lando took fourth after a throw of 34.07 meters. In the javelin, sophomore Cameron Morton (Foxborough, Mass.) threw 33.32 meters to take first.

Freshman Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) won the 200 meters (22.08), while freshman Nathan Rinaldi (Bristol, R.I.) took second in the 400 meters (51.57). It was a two-three finish for the Ravens in the 800 meters, as freshman Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) ran a 1:56.94, and was followed by fellow freshman Thomas Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) with a 2:00.89.

Not to be outdone, freshman Evan McNeice (Wethersfield, Conn.) and senior Ryan Ducrow (Amesbury, Mass.) went one-two in the 1500 meters, with times of 4:17.33 and 4:24.27, respectively. Elsewhere, freshman Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) placed third in the 5000 meters (15:16.65).

Franklin Pierce posted a pair of relay victories on Sunday, as both the 4x100-meter (43.98) and 4x400-meter (3:34.53) squads took first place. The 4x100 lineup featured junior Ethan Pezzullo (Bristol, R.I.), junior Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.), freshman Angel Gonzalez (North Andover, Mass.) and Harris, while the 4x400 team was Jones to Harris to Rinaldi to junior Sekou Veillard (Davie, Fla.).

Everidge and Albee were back in action at SCSU as well. Everidge took second in the shot put (14.93m), while Albee took fourth in the shot (14.70m) and fifth in the discus (37.78m). Freshman Brogan Bonsaint (Somersworth, N.H.) took second in the javelin (54.87m).
