Men’s Track & Field’s Arlabosse Notches 800m New England Title on Second Day of NEICAAAs

Hugo Arlabosse and Trevor Guay

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 11, 2019) – Sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) chalked up the New England title in the 800 meters on Saturday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team, at the second day of the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Southern Connecticut State. Junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) earned All-New England accolades as well, in the 400-meter hurdles.

Arlabosse was certainly the highlight of the day for the Ravens on the second and final day of the New England Championships. He turned in a time of 1:50.10 to take the New England title in the 800 meters and earn 10 points for the team in the process.

Meanwhile, Guay picked up three points for the Ravens with his sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles final, as he posted a time of 54.24 seconds. The 13 points left Franklin Pierce tied for 20th, out of 38 teams to score at least one point at the meet.

The Ravens had two other individuals in action on Saturday at SCSU. Freshman Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) took 23rd in the shot put (13.63m), while freshman Ishmael Johnson (Lynn, Mass.) finished 21st in the triple jump (12.41m).

Franklin Pierce also fielded a team in the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet of Arlabosse, Guay, freshman Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.) and freshman Ethan Pezzullo (Bristol, R.I.) turned in a time of 3:22.97 to finish 11th.

The Ravens will find out which of their student-athletes are headed to the NCAA Championships on Tuesday evening, when the field is announced via a press release on ncaa.com, sometime after 6 p.m.
