Minors aids Men’s Track and Field to 14th place finish at NEICAAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (May 9, 2015) – Sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parrish, Bermuda) used a second place finish in the 800 meter run as the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Men's Track and Field team finished 14th in the field after the final day at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Minors came home with a time of 1:50.54 for his second place finish, which was the top finish of any Raven of the day.  Franklin Pierce also got an individual top-10 performance from junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.), who finished seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:24.69 minutes. Sophomore Dylan Crowley (Woburn, Mass.) wasn't as sharp in the steeplechase, however wasn't too shabby coming in behind Ham. He used a time of 9:55.70 for a 21st place finish.

Other track action came from senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.), and sophomores B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.) and Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.). Gisore came across with a 24th place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:00.57 minutes, while his fellow teammate Smith came through in 16th place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:14.08 minutes. Cataldo brought home a 23rd place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.22 seconds.

Cataldo wasn't done there, as he joined in the parade of relay teams that competed in the day. He first helped the 4x100 relay team along with senior Kevin Sadoski (Glastonbury, Conn.), junior Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Conn.), and freshman Nick Jacques (Westfield, Mass.) to a 10th place finish with a time of 43.20 seconds. Cataldo also joined the 4x400 meter relay team with Jacques, sophomore Matt Carpenter (Gloucester, Mass.), and freshman Josh Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.) for a 9th place finish for a time of 3:19.62 minutes. Lastly, Carpenter also joined Makopa Rugabirwa (Concord, N.H.), sophomore Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.), and freshman Martin Gradijan (Lebanon, N.H.) in the 4x800 relay for a 20th place finsh with a time of 8:02.09 minutes.
