Men’s Track & Field boast solid finishes at Shamrock Invitational

CONWAY, S.C. (March 20, 2015) – Junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) gave the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Men's Track & Field team it's best finish on Friday, as he came in first out of 24 competitors in the 3000 meter steeplechase in the second day of the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Costal Carolina University at Doug Shaw Stadium.

Ham's time of 9:28.37 sets a personal best for him in the event. Along with Ham's brilliance was freshman Josh Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.), who finished third out of 38 competitors in the 800 meters. He finished with a time of 1:58.85 set a season best time in the event.

Junior Chris Birotte (Lynn, Mass.) competed in the mile, and finished fourth out of 18 with a time of 4:43.67. Another solid finish came from senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) in the 5000 meters, as he set a season best time of 14:58.84 while finishing fifth out of 44 in the event.

The Ravens also received solid finishes from sophomore Alex Bonitto (Lynn, Mass.) and junior Mitch McNanna (Milford, Mass.). Bonitto also had a top 10 finish in the 800 along with Ercolini, as he came in ninth with a time of 2:01.44. McNanna took home a 12th place finish out of 30 competitors in the 400 meter hurdles, as he brought home a time of 1:00.03.

Results for the field results of the competition were still being finalized and will be included in tomorrow's recap.

The event will conclude tomorrow for day three, once again being held at Doug Shaw Stadium at Costal Carolina.
