Biunno Biunno earned his second straight Northeast-10 Field Rookie of the Week selection.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 22, 2013) – Freshman Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team has been named Northeast-10 Field Rookie of the Week for the week ending on April 21, as announced Monday by the Conference office.

Biunno and the Ravens competed at Fitchburg State on Saturday in the Eric Loeschner Meet, where he finished second in the high jump, with a mark of 1.93 meters. In addition, he ran the third leg for a 4x100-meter relay squad which also finished second (43.46).

It is the second consecutive Field Rookie of the Week honor for Biunno, who earned his first career outdoor award last week. He was also honored as Field Rookie of the Week once during the indoor season as well. As a team, the Ravens have now earned a combined eight Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week selections during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

The Ravens will send competitors to a pair of meets in the upcoming week. Select participants will travel to the prestigious Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track meet in the country, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia from April 24-27. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad will head for the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational at W.B. Mason Stadium in Easton, Mass. on Friday, April 26.
