Abrams, Ham Post Wins to Lead Men' Track & Field's Seven Top-10 Finishes at George Davis Invitational

Biunno second in 110m hurdles, Abrams adds third in 100m dash

Ham Ham is now third in the Northeast-10 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, after winning the event on Saturday at the George Davis Invitational.

LOWELL, Mass. (April 6, 2013) – Freshman Mike Abrams (Newark, N.J.) won the 200-meter dash (22.31) while freshman Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) won the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:58.13) on Saturday to chalk up two of the seven top-10 finishes for the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team at the UMass Lowell George Davis Invitational, held at Cushing Field Complex.

Ham's time was the first notable time posted by the Ravens in the steeplechase so far on the season, as his time immediately slots into third place in the Northeast-10 Conference. Meanwhile, Abrams added a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.18) to go with his 200-meter win. His 100-meter time was less than an eye-blink off of his season-best time of 11.12.

Freshman Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) did post a season best elsewhere on the track, as he placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.44). His time keeps him second in the Northeast-10 and moves him just three-quarters of a second off the NCAA Championship provisional qualifying standard. Junior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) rounded out the team's top-five finishes by placing fourth in the two-mile run (9:29.57).

Franklin Pierce would add another pair of top-10 finishes of note to round out its day at the George Davis Invitational. Sophomore Makopa Rugabirwa (Concord, N.H.) was less than four seconds off Gisore's heels in the two-mile, as he finished sixth (9:33.24). Freshman Adam-Corey Rander (Bronx, N.Y.) finished 10th in the 200-meter dash (23.56).

The Ravens are back on the track on Saturday, April 13, at the Springtime Invitational, hosted by Brown University in Providence, R.I.
