Ravens among eight schools to collect points

HANOVER, N.H. (January 13, 2013) – Freshman Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) ran an 8.61 to place fourth in the 60-meter hurdles on Sunday as the Franklin Pierce University track and field team competed at the Dartmouth Relays, held at Leverone Field House.

In a meet loaded with Division I talent, Biunno's four points for his fourth-place finish were the only points collected by the Ravens on Sunday. It was good enough to place sixth in the meet however, as eight schools recorded points along the way. Host Dartmouth picked up the team title with 128 points, while Northeastern placed second with 113, more than double the point total of third place.

Biunno added another top-10 finish on the day and led three other strong finishes for Franklin Pierce, as he finished eighth in the long jump after jumping 6.28 meters. Elsewhere, sophomore Macopa Rugabirwa (Concord, N.H.) finished 12th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:52.81, and freshman Shawn DeCost (Nashua, N.H.) placed 16th out of 32 runners in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.14.

The Ravens return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Wesleyan Invitational in Middletown, Conn.
