DeWitt, N.Y. (April 3, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team and its hot start to the spring season ran into Le Moyne, the sixth ranked team in the East Region, on the road on Wednesday afternoon. The host Dolphins dealt the Ravens a 7-0 defeat in the Northeast-10 Conference match.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 8-5 (3-1 NE10), while Le Moyne improves to 8-4 (3-0 NE10).

Le Moyne took all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point to open play on Wednesday. The most competitive match of the three came at third doubles. Sophomore Roberto Chong (Puigpunyent, Spain) and Nkrumah Patrick (Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago) held their own for Franklin Pierce, but ultimately dropped a 7-5 decision to Le Moyne sophomore Tom Jarry and junior Philip Blythe.

Le Moyne took all six singles matches as well, to complete the 7-0 shutout. Both first and third singles went to three sets, with the Dolphins rallying from first-set losses on both occasions. At first singles, Jarry surged past senior James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.), 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. At third singles, Patrick was upended by senior Andres Hernandez, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Le Moyne posted straight-set victories at second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles.

The Ravens return to the court on Saturday, April 6, when they return home to host Southern New Hampshire in an NE10 contest at noon in Rindge.
