Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Weekly Report (PDF)

RINDGE, N.H. (March 7, 2018) – Freshman Roberto Chong (Puigpunyent, Spain) has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending on March 5, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.

Chong went a combined 4-0 last week, in a 2-0 week for the Ravens, by winning twice each at first singles and first doubles. At first singles, he had to grind out a 7-6 (9), 6-4 win at Saint Anselm on Friday, and then cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Saint Michael’s on Saturday. Chong teamed with sophomore Yuval Barak at first doubles, and the two won 8-5 on Friday and 8-0 on Saturday.

Through seven matches in the 2017-18 season, Chong has posted a 5-2 singles record while splitting time between first (3-0) and second (2-2) singles. He has also notched a 5-2 doubles record, exclusively playing alongside Barak at first (2-0) and second (3-2) doubles.

The Ravens (5-2, 2-0 NE10) return to the court on Saturday, March 10, when they travel to Colby for a non-conference match at noon in Waterville, Maine.
